I have a Smart Dimension on a drawing. If I drag the dimension it changes from being linear to slanted. Why?
Solution
Check in Drawing View Properties -> General tab and see if the option for 'Create 3D Dimensions in Pictorial views' is activated. If so uncheck it and recreate the dimension - now when you drag the dimension it will not slant.
The 'Create 3D Dimensions in Pictorial views' option is intended for Pictorial Views only (e.g. Isometric views). With this option on, dimensions do special processing to achieve the correct results on those views types. Consequently all the dimensions created will be 3D dimensions and the modification behavior of this dimensions is as for 3D dimensions. This setting should not be used with Orthographic projection views.
