By default the Base Reference Planes in Solid Edge files are *not* on by default.  How to configure Solid Edge so that these Base Reference Planes are always on by default?

Solution

The setting for the Base Reference Planes to either be on or off is a file specific setting.

If you wish to always have the base reference planes turned on by default when creating a new part, then you will need to modify your template file.

  1. Open your part template file.
  2. Turn on the base reference planes.
  3. Save the modified template file.
Then next time you start a new part using this modified template file, your base reference planes will be turned on by default.
