Details
The Base View command does not list all the Assembly Arrangements in the drawing file, in NX 11 and later releases. Selecting the drawing in the Assembly Navigator and choosing the right-hand mouse button option 'Arrangements' lists all the arrangements in the drawing, but this full list of arrangements will not be available when creating a view when the drawing is the source part for the view.
Solution
When using the Master Model Approach, where an Assembly and Drawing are separate part files, creating a view on the drawing with the assembly as the source part results in all the arrangements from the assembly being copied to the drawing file. When creating any subsequent views on the drawing, if the source part for the view is set to the drawing itself, the arrangements copied from the master model assembly will not be listed in the Base View command dialog. (Only the arrangements created in the drawing file itself, if any, will be listed.)
This is the as-designed behavior in NX 11 and later releases.
The following note has been added to the NX documentation article 'Display an assembly arrangement in a view', in the NX 1847 release:
"Arrangements created in the assembly part, or directly in the drawing part, are available for use when you add a drafting view to your drawing. However, during the view creation process, only arrangements associated with the source part for the view are available for selection."
