How to change standard acceleration (gravity) of 9.81 in MCD?

Solution

Open a part file and go to: 


 File --> Preference --> Mechatronics Concept Designer ..
 --> tab General
 
Find the Gravity value Gz = -9806.65 mm/s^2
Here you can change the value and direction via Gz, Gy and Gx.


Be aware this is a "Part Setting". This mean it is stored in the part file. 
If you want this for new MCD-models then you need to set and save this preference in the (file new) template part also.


You can set this in the customer defaults also:


 --> Mechatronics Concept Designer --> General --> Gravity and Material tab


This will be used when you create a new blank partfile and when you use "restore default" in the preference dialog.


Remark:
This customer default is also used, when a partfile has never set explicitly the value for the Gravity. So, if a template has never been explicitly set to use gravity preferences, it then will have no part settings and use the customer default value.
