ASSEMBLY

Summary

Details

Solid Edge crashes when user In-Place activates some occurrence in assembly while another occurrence of this assembly is already in-place activated (without using close IPA mode) in a virtual environment.

Solution

Check the Solid Edge crashlog file which is created with the crash in C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Temp folder.

If the crash log contains Stack trace information like "vm3dgl64.dll ???" this indicates a problem of the VMware 3D Open GL.

Check if an update of the VMware Tools is needed and deactivate VMware's 3D acceleration.

If this does not solve the behavior see also the VMware Article:

https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2139606.

It contains Information on how to solve crash problems for Open GL applications.
