Would like for the cylindrical face to highlight and show its axis during the step to constrain to in the axial align command.
Solution
Solid Edge 2019 has a new option in 'Settings -> Options -> View' called 'Use shading on highlight'. This appears to give a better visual of the cylindrical face and axis to constrain to.
