Capture Expression Formulas in File to be Used in Multiple other Part Files.
Solution
To prevent recreating identical formulas or expression data in numerous files, and to and save time, do the following.
In the part file that contains all of the formulas that need to be migrated to other part files, open the Expressions editor, and use the "Export Expressions to File", creating an ".exp" file.
Edit the file using Windows Notepad or a similar ASCII text editor, to remove all rows of data except the required formulas. Consider setting any "p**" or custom values that reference other expressions to
a general "X" expression that should be included in the .exp file set to zero. This is to prevent the possibility of forgetting to correctly set the input values for the formula.
Now in another .prt file that requires the formulas, open the Expressions editor, use the "Import Expressions from File" and select the .exp file that you previously edited.
Create a library:
A folder on your file server can be set up and a library of individual or always-used-in-specific-combination formulas can be maintained with unique file names containing one or more formulas as needed and ready to be imported into NX .prt files.
