Summary

Details

When a Feature Control Frame is created and stacked vertically below a horizontal linear dimension the positioning of the FCF is not as expected, its top border is coincident with the dimension line:

The Vertical Stacking 'Above Gap Factor' value of the FCF is not honored.

The FCF can be dragged to the required position. However, if the dimension is subsequently moved vertically the spacing to the FCF is not maintained.

Solution

To create and maintain the vertical stacking spacing between a Feature Control Frame and the dimension, the 'Autospace Stacked Symbols' option must be switched OFF within 'File - Preferences - Drafting Preferences - Stacking' and/or 'File - Utilities - Customer Defaults - Drafting - General/Setup - Standard - Customize Standard - Common - Stacking':

The required spacing is then created when the FCF is stacked with the dimension, and maintained when the dimension is dragged to a new position.
