How to globally turn off and ignore the Part Preview setting in all files.
This would be useful for a large 'Force Save All' task and any large assembly 'Save' operations.
Solution
1. Open the file: %UGII_BASE_DIR%\UGII\ugii_eng_ug.dat
2. After backing up this file, make the following needed change:
Uncomment out the following variable(s):
UGII_DISABLE_COMPONENT_PREVIEWS=ON
- will turn off the part preview generation for all components, but could
still generate the preview image for the work/displayed part.
UGII_DISABLE_PREVIEW = ON
- will disable the preview generation under all circumstances. NOTE: with
this option enabled, the "Create Preview Now" option on the "Preview" panel of
the 'File-->Properties' dialog will be non-operational.
