While Save As, how to inherit the original file Item Name?
Solution
When you perform a Save As to create a new item and use Assign for the ID, name, and revision, a new value is provided for both the ID and name, and the revision is assigned according to the naming rule defined in Teamcenter.
New values are provided for the ID and name regardless of whether they are the same or different. After assigning, you can edit the name value.
Note-
To keep the same name as the original when assigning, change the CopyFromOriginal property to true on the SaveAs descriptor for the item.object_name in the Teamcenter BMIDE.
