In Solid Edge draft when user use Smart Dimension, the values are different than dimension measured by Distance Between type dimension.
Solution
In customers draft file the Drawing view's property, Create 3d dimension in pictorial view option was ON. So user was creating 3D dimension instead of 2D dimension on drawing view.
The option "Create 3D Dimensions in Pictorial views" has been enabled in the drawing view properties.
- This allows creation of 3D dimensions, that is, dimensions that use the associative model to determine true distance, rather than the space on the 2D drawing in pictorial views. Only Smart dimension measures the 3D dimensions in Pictorial views.
Steps:
- Open draft file
- Select drawing View > RMB (Right Mouse Button) click > Select 'Properties'
- In [General] tab uncheck [Create 3D Dimensions in Pictorial views] option
- Click [Apply]
- Click [OK]
