PMI Custom Symbol preferences are not inherited in drafting when PMI is added in drafting while creating a view in Drafting.
Example: Using custom symbol library supplied with NX, %UGII_BASE_DIR%\ UGII\symbol\install_tool\CustomSymbols.zip, installed and enabled through NX customer defaults.
Placing "Datum Target 1" with Annotation Preference: Use Definition set. Everything looks as expected in modeling
Create a new drawing and place a Base View with settings Common -> PMI, Inherited group, PMI: From Model View set, to get PMI from the model into drafting drawing view. This looks like
Not at all the expected style on the Datum 1 custom symbol. It seems like the current default fill in drafting have been used.
What is wrong?
Solution
Inherit PMI framework provides an option to honor the Custom Symbol setting for Inherited PMI
You need to enable a special NX customer default option File --> Utilies --> Customer Default, Drafting --> Workflow tab, Inherited PMI Group, PMI Custom Symbol Setting is provided for this workflow.
Change its value to "Use PMI Settings" (default is Use Drafting Preferences)
Please note: Inherited PMI in drafting created prior to changing this customer default will not be affected by any change, only new views created will follow the new customer default setting.
