Summary

Details

The user is unable to copy translated dimensions to the clipboard.  After importing  a DWG file they drag a selection fence around the entire '2D model' to select all the geometry and dimensions.

Now, pressing Ctrl +C (copy) and then Ctrl +V (paste), they notice the dimensions have not been copied to the clipboard and subsequently are missing.

In contrast, opening a new draft, sketching some 2D geometry and dimensioning it, then copying and pasting it - both geometry and dimensions are visible.

Solution

The reason the dimensions are not copied is because the underlying dimension parents are not in the selection set.  The reason for this is that they are on the "_Translation" layer, which is hidden.

Showing this layer and then selecting allows the dimensions to be copied and pasted.
