NX for Design

Summary

Details

Please let me know the function of "Delete Source JT on Save".
"Delete Source JT on Save" is in "File -> Utilities -> Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> JT Files -> Teamcenter Integration".
I do not know what is different between on and off.

Solution

Here is the current workflow:
JT is Master and NX is derived. During creation of NX part:
 1. If "DeleteSourceJTonSave" customer default is OFF, Save Option "Save JT Data" value will be ignored during save. NX part becomes derived part.
2. If "DeleteSourceJTonSave" customer default is ON, source JT will be deleted and Save Option "Save JT Data" value will be honored during save. NX part becomes the master.

"Source JT" is JT imported into NX and in the format "JT_ASSOCIATIVE_BODY" and "Delete Source JT on Save" is only for "JT_ASSOCIATIVE_BODY" data type and JT data attached as rendering dataset in Item revision.

The actual concept is you bring a JT from another CAD as a source and try to build data in NX using it as reference. Now you have option to Make either JT as master or NX as master.
If "Delete Source JT on Save" is On that means you want to delete the source data which has come from another CAD source and want to build further design based on NX(Make NX as Master)
If "Delete Source JT on Save" is Off that means you don't want to delete the source data and want it to continue it as a Master and NX as only derived data.(hence NO JT is saved).
