Background is black when printing. Save As PDF is not a problem.
Solution
Adding the registry key STRETCHMASKBLT_VERSION = "4" resolved the issue.
The following table describes the interpretation for the

110\DEBUG\STRETCHMASKBLT_VERSION option values:
0 No masking for shaded drawing views. Best for non-overlapping views
1 Experimental tiling algorithm
4 ST4 algorithm
5 ST5 algorithm
6 ST6 algorithm [DEFAULT] Default
20 V20 algorithm No masking (equivalent to 0)
