After saving a Solid Edge draft file to a PDF file, some of the fonts used in the Draft file are missing in the translated PDF file.
Solution
This is working as designed. The font used in the Solid Edge draft file has a Restricted License. This can be observed in Windows Explorer under the C:\Windows\Fonts folder:
Because it is a restricted license, Solid Edge will not allow the font to be embedded into the PDF file.
For more on the different types of font licensing and what each is restricted to allow please see the following link:
http://www.high-logic.com/fontcreator/manual/index.html?fontembeddinglicensingrig.html On this web page, for a Restricted license it clearly states:
Restricted License embedding
Fonts that have this flag set must not be modified, embedded or exchanged in any manner without first obtaining permission of the legal owner. Caution: note that for Restricted License embedding to take effect, it must be the only level of embedding selected (as noted in the previous paragraph).
Therefore you must either find a font with a less restrictive licensing type or you must contact the author of the font to get the license restriction changed.
