How can I use identify results to select results on the interior of my model?

Solution

1. To see internal stresses, you need to use a cutting plane. Edit the post

view and set the display on to cutting plane.

2. Click the Options button.

3. Define the cutting plane by defining the normal axis to the plane.

4. Click the Live update button (circular arrow icon).

5. Use the slider to position the cutting plane to the desired location.

6. You can now use the identify results command to query results on the

cutting plane.

7. Unless there is a node at the cutting plane the results are interpolated.

8. You can even use the Feature face option to select the cutting plane face

and retrieve results across cut faces on the cutting plane.
