Summary

Details

Have a file that will not open in Solid Edge.

Solution

Sometimes files will not open for different reasons. Files can get corrupted,
quarantined by virus scanner, were saved in a later version of Solid Edge, etc.

If you suspect your file is corrupt and have Windows System Restore turned on,
you might be in luck. When System Restore and the option to Restore Files are
on, every time a Restore Point is created, previous versions of files get
created by Windows.

You can access those previous versions by right-clicking the file that won't
open and clicking on Restore Previous Versions. That will present a list of
files to restore. If the resulting list is grayed out or empty, you do not
have a previous version to restore.

The following article has more information on how this Windows functionality
works.

If you do not have these options on and need further help with your file,
please contact GTAC.
