How can users add custom thread sizes to the available options in the Hole feature dialog, for example Threaded Hole type?

Solution

The files that control these fields are located at %UGII_ROOT_DIR%/modeling_standards

There you will find the 3 xml files from which the data is fetched for the Hole Feature dialog:

nx6_Drill_Size_Hole_Standard.xml
nx502_Screw_Clearance_Hole_Standard.xml
nx502_Threaded_Hole_Standard.xml

If you want custom size hole features, you need to carefully change/append the entries in these standards in the XML's, appropriately maintaining the syntax in which they are arranged.

Doing it correctly and launching a new NX session which refers to these files, you will be able to see the custom entries added in the Hole feature dialog.

It is strongly recommended to first back up the original XML files is case of accidental edits which render the files unusable.
