Details

If a 2D surface coat disappears when the Simulation file is made the displayed

part, it may be due to the "Export Mesh to Solver" checkbox being unset.

Solution

Both a 2D mesh and a surface coat mesh require the "Export Mesh to Solver" checkbox to be checked, if it is supposed to be exported to the NX Nastran input deck. If it is accidentally unchecked, the 2D mesh can be edited and the checkbox changed. However an existing 2D Surface coat mesh, that is directly applied to 3D element faces, cannot use the Edit mesh function. Once the 2D Surface Coat mesh is created, the edit Mesh Associated Data function must be used to edit the checkbox. It is located in the Mesh Properties group if the Mesh Associated Data dialog.
