NX X 'View of Part' puts all components on the work layer

When using 'View of Part' to create a drawing view, all entities are on the Work layer and layers cannot be used to manage the display of components.

Solution

Instead of using layers, use 'Show/Hide Components in View' to manage components displayed in the 'View of Part' drawing view:

1. In the Menu, select 'Assemblies-->Context Control-->Hide Components in View'. 
2. Select the component to hide from the Assembly Navigator. 
3. Select the view where the component should be hidden.
4. OK the dialog.
5. Update the drawing view to refresh the view and disable the display of the component. 

To show a hidden component in a view created using 'View of Part':

1. In the Menu, select 'Assemblies-->Context Control-->Show Components in View'. 
2. Select the view to show the component.
3. Select the component to show in the chosen view.
   Components can be selected from the listing window or the Assembly Navigator.
4. OK the dialog. 
5. Update the drawing view to refresh the view and enable the display of the component.
