An attempt to launch the NX 12 Viewer fails and the following pop-up error is displayed:
"The Graphics Window has detected an error and is not able to initialize.
General Fault Exception."
However, the NX 9 Viewer launches without issue. Updating the graphics driver did not resolve the error.
Solution
The Graphics Windows initialization error was caused by an outdated SpaceMouse 3DxWare device driver, which installs a plug-in for NX called "3Dconnexion Plug-in for NX" or "3DxNX" for short, including a "3DxNX" menu/toolbar.
After an upgrade of NX or the NX Viewer, it is recommended to remove the existing 3DxWare device driver and install the latest one for the Spacemouse device from the site
www.3dconnexion.com.
Installing the latest 3Dconnexion device driver enabled the NX Viewer to run without errors.
