Make Datum Planes Clear or Transparent without any Shaded Translucency
Solution
Turning off the translucent shaded Datum Plane display can be done by checking
the box in NX11 for 'File -> Preferences -> Visualization Performance ->
General Graphics (tab) -> "Disable Plane Translucency" '. This works only
during the current NX session.
This can be permanently turned off per user by selecting 'File -> Utilities ->
Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> Visualization -> Performance (tab) -> General
Graphics (group with blue text) -> (check box) "Disable Plane Translucency" '.
Here is the description from the NX documentation:
Disable Plane Translucency
Controls whether datum planes are displayed with translucency. If this check
box is not selected, and if the view rendering style is not Static Wireframe,
the datum plane is filled with translucency. If the check box is selected, or
if the view rendering style is Static Wireframe, only the perimeter of the
datum plane is displayed.
Display performance can be degraded if many translucent datum planes are
displayed. Select this check box if performance is unsatisfactory while
translucent datum planes are displayed.
Disable Plane Translucency is a session option, so it applies to views in all
parts in the session. NX does not save the Disable Plane Translucency setting.
For each session, it initializes the setting according to a customer default.
