Tried installing a new version of Solid Edge but encounter the following error:
"Setup has detected that another Solid Edge product is currently installed.
The existing product must be uninstalled for setup to continue."
Uninstalled using Control Panel - what else needs to be done?
Solution
You can try going thru a manual removal and registry cleanup:
1. Delete all C:/program files/solid edge* folders
2. Clean up the following registry hives:
>> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphicsolutions by removing any and
all Solid Edge related registries:
>> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Unigraphicsolutions by removing any and all
Solid Edge related registries:
3. Reboot (very important step)
4. Install Solid Edge.
It is possible that you might still encoutner the error. Sometimes the problem
is caused by the .msi itself. With Win7, Win8.1 and Win10 you might need to
download the troubleshooter from Microsoft and run it:
