Attempting to create a FEM, a CAE geometry update error is returned with message "Polygon body has free edges".
Solution
Tolerant edges are not valid for CAE operations -- edges must be precise edges for CAE analysis. In addition to operations for repairing geometry like Auto Heal and Stitch Edge, the synchronous modeling command Optimize Face can also be used. This operation does remove parameters from some features, so face selection and tolerance should be considered.
