NX Displaying the Operation Name when Creating a New Operation instead of the Tooltip Dialog.

A custom CAM template file has been created with a large number of operations.

When hovering the cursor over an operation the Tooltip menu is displayed. Can this Tooltip display be turned off and only the Operation name displayed instead?

Solution

You can turn off the Tooltip display by unchecking 'File -> Utilities -> Customer Defaults -> Manufacturing -> User Interface -> Dialog Boxes -> Show Picture Tooltips in Create Object Dialog Boxes'.

To disable Tooltips in only one template file open the file, select the operation, MB3 -> Properties and delete the "NX$CAM_TEMPLATE" Category with its contents.

When the template is used and the cursor is hovered over the operation only the operation name will be displayed, as seen below.
