How do you change the environment size in KeyShot?
Solution
If your model is really large it might not fit the default environment size in
KeyShot. To fix that you can either change the environment so it becomes
bigger than your model or you can scale the model down to fit the environment.
Here are the steps for each, using KeyShot 7:
To enlarge the environment:
- Open the KeyShot file
- Zoom out until you can see both the environment sphere and your model
completely
- Go to the Project Menu, Environment tab
- Under the Transform pulldown, find the Size option
- You can play with the slider or you can enter a number for the size of the
environment. If the slider does not change the size enough, just enter a
number in the field. That allows for any size independent of the slider scale.
To shrink the model:
- Open the KeyShot file
- Zoom out until you can see both the environment sphere and your model
completely
- Go to the Project Menu, Scene tab
- Select the entire model by clicking the model name under the header Models.
The whole model should highlight on the screen
- Right below the box listing the models and cameras, there are three tabs.
Click on the Position tab
- Now use the scale slider or the scale numeric field to change the model so
it fits the environment size.
