When Exporting a PDF from the Current Display (in Modeling) of a solid in
Wireframe with hidden edges, the hidden edges will also be shown in the PDF.
Solution
By default, Export PDF from the Modeling environment will always result in a full wireframe,
no matter what representation you have (Shaded, Hidden, etc.)
This is caused by the setting "Infer Edge Output", which is unchecked by default.
When checking this option via Preferences-Visualization, tab "Visual" --> "Session Settings" pane,
then the appearance of edges for plotting, PDF, ... is inferred from onscreen edge appearance.
Then Export PDF of a Modeling view with hidden edges will result in a PDF file with hidden edges.
This setting can also be set in the Customer Defaults.
