Summary

Details

Revision Number is empty for "New" Solid Edge Document in the Common Properties Dialog (CPD) when saving even though the file naming rules in 'Solid Edge Options -> Manage -> 'Use Solid Edge Data Management' ->  'Document Naming Rule' tab has 'Automatically name files via Document Number and Revision' activated with standard Revision delimiter '_' and starting revision value 'A' correctly set.

Solution

Check the File Properties of the Template File to see if the Revision Number in the Project Tab contains an invalid character such as a " " (Blank) or "*,&,%,$,#,@,!,?,>,^,:,;"

Deleting this character, saving and using this template will fix the behavior so that the Revision Number is empty in the CDP of a New Document at File save.
