What license feature is needed to perform Reverse Engineering?

Solution

To access  Reverse Engineering

    a. Start NX and open part file


    b. Select Application -> Modeling


    c. Select Home tab (to right of File at upper left)


    d. In upper tools/icons bar, go to right where blank, then right-click


    e. Reverse Engineering - click on it to check it


    f. This eventually created a tab at the very top called "Reverse Engineering"


    g. Select "Reverse Engineering" tab


    h. Under that, select "Rapid Surfacing" (for example)


        A dialog box appears and "Facet Body" etc should be presented
        This will invoke the license feature needed to perform Reverse Engineering

        The  splm_ugslmd.log, excerpt:
         
           10:39:23 (ugslmd) OUT: "gateway" 
           10:50:27 (ugslmd) OUT: "solid_modeling" 
           10:54:11 (ugslmd) OUT: "nx_freeform_2" 
       
       Therefore the license feature needed to perform Reverse Engineering is:

           nx_freeform_2
