The customer is running NX 10.0.3.5 MP7.
The customer recently upgraded some windows machines to Office 2013, from Office 2010.
On the machines where Office 2013 was loaded, NX is unable to interface with the Excel spreadsheet. The 3rd mouse button (for instance) in the Assembly Navigator and select "Export to Spreadsheet", the following message appears:
"Failed to connect to Excel events".
The NX syslog shows additional errors about not being able to run the "UGSetEventSink" macro.

VENDOR SOFTWARE PROBLEM
In this situation:
"Trusted Location" in security options in Office 2013 was not authorized (by our customer's customer).
This capability has essentially been disabled for Office 2013 by OUR customer. OUR customer is seeking a waiver from THEIR customer to ENABLE their Trusted Location settings.

Prior front line diagnose (to no avail in this particular case):
a. NX 10.0.x supported with Microsoft Office 2013 - CHECK
b. Run Excel -> select File / Options -> select Add-ins
Go to icon at bottom -> select Browse ->
navigate under c:\Program Files\Siemens\NX 10.0\UGII\ ->
select ug.xla and select open.

c. The presence of a third-party software called
Foxit PDF Reader - Its presence impacts the Office/Excel and NX Spreadsheet functionality.
CHECK - Confirmed NOT present.
