Is it possible to enable write access to or modify a Released status file without changing the status of the file or creating a new revision?

Solution

Normal Solid Edge behaviour prevents you from making changes to a file with a Released status without first changing the status of the file or creating a new revision of a file.  Using the following workaround it is possible to modify a Released status file without changing the status of the file or creating a new revision.

In the registry create the following DWORD (32-bit) value:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unigraphics Solutions\Solid Edge\Version 110\DEBUG\DOCMGMT_OVERRIDESTATUSCHECKFORFILEACCESS

Set this value to = 1.

Now, whenever you open a Released status file in Solid Edge, in the Read-Only Assistant window select "Request write access" and the file will immediately become modifiable without having to change the file status or creating a new revision.
