Is it possible to open previous Solid Edge versions of files into the latest Solid Edge version?
Solution
The latest Solid Edge version will open files from any earlier release of Solid Edge that use the Parasolid kernel.
Solid Edge V5 and later versions of Solid Edge all use the Parasolid kernel. Therefore the latest Solid Edge version can open files from Solid Edge V5 and later.
Solid Edge V4 and earlier version all use the ACIS kernel. Therefore the latest Solid Edge version *cannot* open files from Solid Edge V4 and earlier.
