When tried to use the "Convert and Insert CAD Files" function to import the IGES files, it gives an error.
In spite of having the TN70075 (prd_iges) license ,why is it not possible to import IGES file using TN70075C (prd_iges) through "Convert and Insert CAD Files" function of Process Simulate?
Solution
The problem is when you execute the import through "Convert and Insert CAD Files", the license feature which gets consumed is - "iges_file_translator"
This particular feature is TC Vis based & comes in TC Visualization's specific license bundles.
Whereas "prd_iges" is part of Tecnomatix suit's TN70075 package.
TN70075 is required for using the Importer command.
This command uses old translators.
In order to launch this, you will need to use the Importer.exe.
You will find the Importer.exe file under .....\Tecnomatix_14.0.1\eMPower folder of your installation.
Execute it and it will open the UI wherein using Input File's Browse menu, you can select the required File Type (IGES in this case).
The Advanced button has got a IGES tab where some advanced settings can be done.
In case you want to use the "Convert and Insert CAD Files" method for import then, there is a need for different license bundle. Siemens Sales team can guide which bundle is suitable for you (with iges_file_translator feature) based on your requirement.
