Non-English installers are finding an error occurs when running the NX 12.0.1 and Simcenter 12.0.1 installations as upgrades to NX 12.0 and Simcenter 12.0 respectively.
There was a UI change made to the NX 12.0.1 installation which is causing this error as MSI is using the non-modified cached transform (MST) for languages other than English.
This is a workaround that doesn't require an uninstall of NX/Simcenter 12.0 and install of NX/Simcenter 12.0.1 and can be performed on the system prior to installing NX/Simcenter 12.0.1 as an upgrade.
For NX:
1. In Explorer, look in C:\Windows\Installer\{3C04623B-A1D4-4390-838B-7A8B58D4221A} for a file with a .MST extension and make note of the 4 number name for the file. ex. 1036.MST for French.
2. Delete the .MST file.
3. Copy the same numbered .mst file from the downloaded NX 12.0.1 install location (dvdrom1201_nx\nx1201) to the C:\Windows\Installer\{3C04623B-A1D4-4390-838B-7A8B58D4221A} folder.
ex. Copy 1036.mst to C:\Windows\Installer\{3C04623B-A1D4-4390-838B-7A8B58D4221A}
Make sure there is only one .mst file (and no .MST file) in the C:\Windows\Installer\{3C04623B-A1D4-4390-838B-7A8B58D4221A} and then run the NX 12.0.1 installation.
For Simcenter:
1. In Explorer, look in C:\Windows\Installer\{A8F493DD-589B-40C2-93A9-79404CC9B800} for a file with a .MST extension and make note of the 4 number name for the file. ex. 1036.MST for French.
2. Delete the .MST file.
3. Copy the same numbered .mst file from the downloaded Simcenter 12.0.1 install location (dvdrom1201_simcenter\simcenter1201) to the C:\Windows\Installer\{A8F493DD-589B-40C2-93A9-79404CC9B800} folder.
ex. Copy 1036.mst to C:\Windows\Installer\{A8F493DD-589B-40C2-93A9-79404CC9B800}
Make sure there is only one .mst file (and no .MST file) in the C:\Windows\Installer\{A8F493DD-589B-40C2-93A9-79404CC9B800} and then run the Simcenter 12.0.1 installation.
Note: The update installation of NX/Simcenter 12.0.1 from NX/Simcenter 12.0 may contain files which overwrite files a customer may have modified in the original NX/Simcenter 12.0 environment. Back up all of your modifications to NX/Simcenter files in the install environment before applying the NX/Simcenter 12.0.1 upgrade and then reapply the modifications after installation.
