1. Open NX. Create a simple assembly having one component. Make the component work part.
2. Create a simple block, line, point, etc. in the component.
3. Set the setting as below.
[Menu -> Preferences -> Selection -> Selection Rule - Inside]
Select block or line or point of component by Rectangle selection.
The component will also be selected in the Assembly Navigator.
Solution
When in global selection (not in a command) and selection scope set to Entire Assembly, a component can be selected via a rectangle/lasso/circle select gesture by simply enclosing at least one member/object of the component.
In other words, for each object enclosed by the gesture, if the object is a member of a component, the object is promoted to its owning component. In this scenario, the component (and not the object) is selected.
