Summary

Details

1. Create a simple block.
2. Set the Rendering style to 'Wireframe with Hidden Edges'.
3. From the 'Selection Group' turn off "Highlight Hidden Edges".
4. From 'Type Filter' select "Feature".
5. Select the block or move the mouse cursor over the block to pre-select the block.
The hidden edges are highlighted even though "Highlight Hidden Edges" is off.
This issue does not occur if in 'Type Filter' "Solid Body" is selected.

Solution

This behavior was intentionally implemented in NX8.
The behavior is related to a new capability called "Display Features as Created", which means that "when a feature is selected or preselected, the feature now displays as it was when it was created."
The new functionality explicitly sets display attributes to enable show-through behavior for the highlighted feature even if the Highlight Hidden Edges option is disabled.
Note that the behavior affects features only. It does not occur if you select a solid body or face.
To disable the behavior, you can select Preferences -> Selection and turn off Highlight Original.
