NX X Move Face fails; Geometry needed cannot be added

Move Face command fails with a certain set of faces with following warning:

Solution

The failure could be due to an incorrect "side face" extension option that is used. NX sets soft extension as default. It produces a result with better continuity when successful, but the success rate of the option is lower than the linear option.


In case of a Move Face failure, the user can try setting the Preferences -> Modeling -> Freeform -> Surface Extension Method from Soft to Linear. Repeat the Move Face operation after the change.
