Summary

Details

I would like to measure Volume in decimeters^3 Units and areas in meters^2 Units.

How can I achieve it ?

Solution

You can define custom units and write down those to a file so that it can be available for all the parts.

1) Define the environment variable "UGII_UNITS_WRITE_FILE" with value "1"

Start Up NX, open Units Manager and follow the steps :

2) After adding new unit, click on 'Write File' and provide the required name and directory path to save this '.xml' file.

3) Now set another environment variable with value equal to the path of the custom defined unit xml file.
    Example "UGII_UNITS_USER_DEFINED_FILE = C:\Units.xml"

4) Restart NX and you will find the custom defined units in all the parts.
