Solid Edge Orientation of 3D PMI dimensions/annotations used in a Drawing View

Summary

Details

I define a Model View and create a 3D PMI dimension on my model - the
orientation corresponds to the planes/edges of the geometry used to define it.
I then place a 3D PMI annotation (e.g. Callout) on the model and define a plane
and orientation axis for it.

However when I create a drawing and place a Drawing View using the Model View
with the options 'Include PMI dimensions/annotations from model views'
activated, whilst the 3D PMI the dimension appears in the same orientation as
in the Model View, the Callout annotation is set flat to the screen. Why is
there a difference in behaviour?

Solution

We currently cannot display tilted text on drawings. Even dimension text is
really rotated text, not tilted. The dimension geometry is reconstructed to
give the appearance of being on a plane, but in fact is still flat to the
sheet.

Display in Draft is 2D only. There is no depth in the display of drawing views.
Because of this we cannot display text rotated back and out of the plane of the
sheet - we are only able to rotate it in the plane of the sheet.
