Solid Edge supports opening of Pro/Engineer (Creo files). However Creo 4.0
file format is currently not supported. How to determine the version of Creo
files being imported?
Solution
Select the Creo file and open in a text editing tool e.g. Notepad.
You will see the version towards the top, for example:
#Creo TM 4.0 (c) 2017 by PTC Inc. All Rights Reserved. M100
So this file is version 4 and cannot currently be opened.
