Summary

Details

When printing a Solid Edge draft file that contains a shaded view, the shaded view is blocking, hiding, or masking other geometry and details on the printed file when compared to the draft file.

Solution

This issue can occur if the view border of the shaded view is overlapping other geometry on the Solid Edge draft.

To resolve this:

1. Close Solid Edge.

2. Open the Windows registry.

3. Select "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Siemens\Solid Edge\Version xxx\DEBUG".

4. Create a new 'DWORD (32 bit) value "STRETCHMASKBLT_VERSION" and set it to 1 e.g.

5. Exit the registry.

Recreate the draft print out.

If the issue is still not resolved after setting this value, selecting a different value for the STRETCHMASKBLT_VERSION switch may have better results.   This DWORD value can set to any of the following:

  • 0 = No masking for shaded drawing views. Best for non-overlapping views
  • 1 = Experimental tiling algorithm
  • 4 = ST4 algorithm
  • 5 = ST5 algorithm
  • 6 = ST6 algorithm (Default behaviour)
  • 20 = V20 algorithm No masking (equivalent to 0)
