When importing a STEP file, multiple part files are created with multiple part copies. How to import the STEP such that a single part file is created?
Solution
In the "<Solid Edge install folder location>\Preferences\Translators" is the STEP.INI file.
Open this STEP.INI into a text editor.
Change the following preference to be On:
Import Multiple Bodies As Single Part file=On
Save the modified ini file.
Re-import your STEP file.
Your import will now create a single part file, comprised of multiple part copies.
