When importing a STEP file, a single part file is created with multiple part copies. How to import the STEP such that individual part files are created for each part copy?
Solution
In the "<Solid Edge install folder location>\Preferences\Translators" is the STEP.INI file.
Open this STEP.INI into a text editor.
Change the following preference to be Off:
Import Multiple Bodies As Single Part file=Off
Save the modified ini file.
Re-import your STEP file.
Your import will now create separate multiple part files.
