---------------
There are occasions where you define the Standard Parts SAC file location in
the Solid Edge options on the 'File Locations'-tab and the entry will not stay
there. Latest on reopen of the 'File Locations'-tab the definition will be
gone.
Solution
These are four possible reasons for this behaviour.
1.
The user needs full permissions on the standard parts folder where the
SMAPINIFile.sac resides.
2.
The SMAPINIFile.sac holds information about the location of the Standard Parts
Database. If the Standard Parts Database resides on a server, it is essential
that the location is defined using UNC format like \\server\StandardParts. A
definition of a network drive like X:\StandardParts will not work. You make
this definition visible if you start the Standard Parts Configuration Wizard on
the server. You also use the Standard Parts Configuration Wizard to change this
setting and write it to a new SMAPINIFile.sac by clicking 'save'.
3.
Again, if the Standard Parts Database resides on a server, the entry on the
'File Locations'-tab must be in UNC format like
\\server\StandardParts\SMAPINIFile.sac.
4.
Network instability. Of course, the access to the Standard Parts server must be
guaranteed.
