Summary

Details

Hidden (dashed) lines are displayed as expected in the NX Drafting session, but are displayed as solid lines in PDF or CGM files and when the drawing is plotted.

Solution

When a PDF, CGM or plot files are created in NX the 'Software Fonts' settings for 'Dash Size' and 'Space Size' are used to display dashed lines. If the values of these parameters are too small (for example 0.05), then the dashed lines appear as solid in the output files.

To change the values of the 'Dash Size' and 'Space Size':

1. Select 'File -> Preferences -> Visualization...', select the 'Line' tab and enable the 'Software Fonts' option.

2. Enter the required values for 'Dash Size' and 'Space Size', for example '1.0'.

3. Deselect the 'Software Fonts' option after changing the values. Any new PDF/CGM files will use the new values when 'Software Fonts' is OFF. If the 'Software Fonts' option is ON then these values will be used to display the dashed lines in the NX session, which is not as efficient as using Hardware Fonts.
