After installing ST9 MP1 or later, there is no shortcut provided to the free Viewer.
Solution
With base ST9, we inadvertently did not install the free Viewer with the core Solid Edge install. Just as with previous versions, you cannot install the Viewer as a separate product when Solid Edge is already
installed. Therefore with ST9 there is no way to install the Viewer separately. With ST9 MP1 and later we provided the Viewer .exe as part of the Solid Edge maintenance pack installation. However, because of the
nature of the MP technology, there is no way to provide a Start menu shortcut for the now provided ST9 Viewer.
With ST9 MP1 or later installed, you will need to manually create a shortcut for all users to the Solid Edge Viewer .exe file:
1. In "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Solid Edge ST9" create a new Shortcut.
2. Point the Shortcut to "C:\Program Files\Solid Edge ST9\Program\win32\seviewer.exe".
3. Name the Shortcut "Solid Edge Viewer ST9".
With ST9 MP1 and higher installed, following the above instructions will resolve the missing Viewer shortcut issue.
