Solid Edge Symbol for Coordinate Systems not shown in Drawing View

Summary

Details

Symbols for Coordinate System/Center of Mass cannot be shown in Drawing
Views. Setting coordinate system and center of mass to 'Show' in drawing view
properties seems to has no effect.

Solution

This can be caused by a missing symbol/block in the draft. Often this is caused
by migrating old templates from previous Solid Edge versions to ST8/ST9.
Showing the coordinate system/center of mass needs a block called 'COM' which
is usually included in the latest templates.

The name of this block can be set in Solid Edge Options -> Annotation -> Center
of Mass and Coordinate System Block. If this entry is empty, then this block is
missing. Using 'Change' and 'Browse' you can copy this block from another draft
file, e.g. an original Solid Edge template. Alternatively you can define your
own symbol, if you do not want to use the circle with the two black sectors.

Details can be found in Help, under 'Define a custom center of mass or
coordinate system for drawings'.
