When trying migrate Solid Works files to Solid Edge, getting an unknown error
message.
Solution
To use the migration tool without the DCOM Application the following needs to
be done:
-Install both Solid Works and Solid Edge on the same machine
-You do not have to create a network share for the Solid Works files. A local
folder is all that is necessary.
-Do not install the Data Migration application from your Solid Edge install
media. If you have already installed the Data Migration application, uninstall
it, along with any files and/or folders the Data Migration application may have
left behind after the uninstall. If the Data Migration application is not
detected, the files will be processed in local mode.
-Complete the fields in the dialog just as you have in the past, including the
node name.
