Having edited the ugs_drawing_templates pax file, to change the Filename and Presentation Name, the "File --> New" dialog continues to show the old template names and does not list the newer drawing templates. The new template part files were placed in the templates folder and the NX session had been restarted.
Solution
On reviewing the NX Log File it was found that the session had the variable UGII_TEMPLATE_DIR pointing to a network shared drive:
UGII_TEMPLATE_DIR=N:\NX_Custom\templates\
The new template part files and the ugs_drawing_templates.pax file were copied over to the network drive and once NX was restarted the File --> New dialog shows the correct templates and names.
Had this been a Teamcenter Managed session of NX, an additional check would be to look for the Teamcenter Preference TC_NX_FileNewPAXFiles_NX12, as the pax files could have been managed by Teamcenter, rather than on a network share.
